Cristian Morales Carrasco is an electrical civil engineer with an MSc in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering. His research has focused on functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) analysis and, in recent years, on guiding transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) using individualized brain functional networks and electric field modeling. During his PhD, he worked on fMRI studies to assess the impact of visual therapies on convergence insufficiency. Later, in his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota, he specialized in precision functional mapping (PFM) to optimize TMS interventions in various brain conditions, collaborating on interdisciplinary projects with applications in clinical neuroscience. His work has generated multiple publications in neuroimaging and neuromodulation, including the use of PFM to direct TMS in disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder. Additionally, he has participated in scientific outreach activities in museums and fairs, promoting the impact of neuromodulation therapies on brain health.
