Leo Medina is an Associate Professor at Universidad de Santiago de Chile, where he leads the NeuroEng@Usach research group. He is currently in a one-year research visit at The University of Melbourne. In the past, he was a visiting scholar at the University of Miami, a postdoctoral researcher at Universidad de Valparaíso, an associate researcher at Duke University, and an R&D engineer at the Universidad de Chile. He obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, where he was a Fulbright Scholar. His research focuses on applying engineering techniques to understand the nervous system and support the treatment of neurological disorders. He has led ANID-funded projects on complexity analyses of bioelectrical signals for diagnostics, and on neuronal responses to electrical stimulation. Beyond academia, he is passionate about soccer, cooking, and, most importantly, his family.
